What would you like to see in a game?

Another game like baldur gate, with good story and interesting charators (like Boo ;) ) ,all i asking for is an rpg with a bit of soul.

I'd like to see a deathmatch game created by a large number of developers, simple idea, normal online deathmatch and CTF etc, but when you choose a character you get a choice of famous game character. Each character could only use the weapons from there respective games.

So for example there would be the doom marine with a BFG and plasma gun etc, and there would be another with a crowbar and gravity gun playing as gordon, would be cool sort of like a battle of the game titans game.

Would just be loads of fun gordon vs lara croft imagine the fun and the varity of gameplay style in one huge arena.

I'd like to see the combined might of Sid Meier, Will Wright and Chris Sawyer in a game and wave goodbye to sleep.

I'd like the obsession with Rag Doll physics to be toned down and people give some thought to how objects actually react, i hate when you shoot someone and they suddenly fly off everywhere, a corpse has weight.

Totally detstructive environment.

A game that with all the graphics turned is still a great game underneath.

A racing MMORPG. Like Eve Online but just racing around a city doing jobs or drag races etc. Have to start off with a crap car like a Fiesta and have to build your way up to driving Ferrari's etc.

And this has to have real cars too :)

I MAY be wrong but I think the new Test Drive or whatever for 360/PC is kinda MMORPG'ey like one big map etc. ?

I would like to see

1. One big FPS kinda game, maybe WW2. I want to be pinned down by tanks then look up and see a bomber saving my arse from them (Saving Private Ryan :D)

2. Proper teamwork in games, one team acting as a whole is immense when it happens.

If they hadnt ruined it, I would still be playing and that would be bad m'kay?

Bad as in absolutely totally life fixing utter brilliance and bliss?

Yes, very very bad.

I'd like to see a point'n'click adventure with the wit and originality of the original Lucasarts (and similar) games. The graphics needn't even be any better. The perpetually postponed Sam n Max seems to be the closest thing to a new release, so in the meantime I'll just have to keep replaying the old classics. :(

There's a new indiana jones game coming out with technology along those lines. It basically generates animations based on ragdoll physics mixed with artist-created animations.

I saw the video demonstration to this on gamespot from E3 and it looked pretty nice.

Basicaly if you threw an enemy at a car it would react different each time and he then threw him to one of the surrounding buildsings wooden door which started to break and he did this a few times to demonstrate it.

This kinda of game has its problems though as you would be continuously making the game bigger due to being able to smash through everything and go anywhere so you have to put some limits other wise you'll need to make a relica Planet Earth to place your game in.

Infact thats what i would love to see in a game, make a replica planet earth where you could do anything and be anything and go anywhere for example.

You become a rally racing driver and in the middle of a race you decide to go off the track and drive into a near by town rob a bank, use your rally car to evade police by taking it on to a dirt track then you have lost the police go into town and gamble in a casion then stake it out to rob it. Once you have succsessfully rob the bank you Buy you own 747 learn how to fly it then travel the world and buy house in monca where you can watch the grand prix.

That more than likely looks stupid but what i mean is true freedom to do anything you could in the real world but with out the risk hehehe

Now that for me would be my dream game but wont happen any time soon if ever due to the shear amount of work needed but games like Grand Theft are attemping it

A bit unfeasable, but a WWII version of the total war series, that would be sickening, rolling into battle with a full Russian Tank army full to the brim with loads of t34's, IS 1's and 2's, would be war ******* heaven :D

Although medieval TW 2 will do when that comes out :D

Hybrid of Ghost Recon, Operation Flashpoint and Battlefield 2.

  • The pin-point details and gameplay style of Ghost Recon.
  • The realism and scale of Operation Flashpoint.
  • The multiplayer teamwork infrastucture of BF2.

Fixed. :D

I would like to see an RTS with some actual AI and proper atmospheric interactions. Im fed up with the same old same old unit, walk in a straight line, fire gun, die thing. I want to see commandos that actually use the terrain, take cover from bullets and flank the enemy. I want tank squadrons that work together, proper aerial support and artillery. I want explosions to make craters, not leave scortch marks. I want allot!

Here's one! Torches in FPS's!

I'd like to have torches that don't actually run out of juice within 3 minutes and then somehow miraclously recharge their own 'batteries' whilst turned off and not plugged into anything.

Actually, whilst I'm on about torches. Here's a novel idea for the lead character with the big gun and a torch to try! Fix the bloody torch to the gun's barrel! How's that for simplicity?

That seems to be one of the best ways to have a WW2 RTS ive ever heard

But i would like to be able to instead control every one but play it more like BIA style in the battles where you comand a squad of a certain amount of people but have other squads fighting around the area aswell

a mmo game with no monthly charges that is based on earth with millions of zombies and members can be survivers :p

Good thread, :D

I've always wanted to see an extreme sports game, that had a wide variety of disciplines to take part in. For example there would be an expansive world maybe on the same scale as Tamriel in Oblivion, in which all the different sports could take place. So there would be mountain biking, kyaking, base jumping, mountaineering, snowboarding and all that Jazz. The game world should be ultra realistic and full of eye candy with river networks and realtime weather changes according to the specific geography. So high on mountain peaks snow storms would generate accumulations of snow and ice. Even avalanches could be initiated by the player. There would also be a multitude of vehicles available to the player, so quadbikes, dirtbikes, offroad buggies, and large 4 wheel drive vehicles to get around in. I guess it would be a tad like the mountain area chilliad in GTA San Andreas, but much more freeform and interactive.
