Im at the point where I cannot upgrade without it being a complete waste of money.
My main PC is an AMD 9590 ( waste of money ) in a Sabretooth 990FX R2 Mobo with 32GB RAM, running a pair of ATI 285 cards - another waste of time as I have little use of my left hand and gaming is now fairly much over for me, other than Dawn Of War and I dont need those cards for that do I? - Similarly my Audio setup is based on a Recon3D and I could upgrade that, but I like the front panel and so I wont really get better without spending stupid money.
The worst thing, is that I have also got a LAN room upstairs in my house that I cannot get to, because I am now disabled and I have not stopped buying bits for my other PCs and I have yet to do anything with them... For example, I have a Thermaltake Mozart TX at long last, and thats upstairs waiting to be filled, I have also got a Lian Li Server case in the hallway also needing to be filled, and I have loads of cards like GFX and Audio such as a pair of GTX 680 cards in their cellophane still, a couple of ASUS Xonar cards of whatever the hell they are, and a load of other tuff, Motherboards, Processors, and you name it, all waiting to be opened up.
I am now waiting to find a bungalow with a huge garage so that I can start back with it all, but the original reason why I did the LAN was to play games with my kids, and they are now grown up a bit sono longer play, but Im still in the modde of upgrading their PCs... Hell, my daughter has anothe rone in her bedroom and my son has my Dual Xeon in his room, and all he uses it for, is to record and upload his XBOX games - how irritating is that?- That setup cost me over £3K!!!
Ah Im waffling again arent I?
Ok, closing time.
One upgrade that I will probably be doing before the year is out, is my I7 setup.
While I love my AMD and I do admit to being a lover of AMD, my newest Laptop is ridiculously powerful, and so its shown me how good the newest I7s are, so its going to be a top end I7 next time, and that will also mean Mobo too. I will decide though around the end of the year. I might not bother and end up buying a new Mobility scooter instead.
