What Would You Use?

Hi all, I'm looking for a little advice and opinion here thats all really so her goes.

I've fairly recently built a new PC and am currently using the onboard sound, it shows in the device manager as Realtek High Definition Audio and it is one which is installed on the Gigabyte GA-MA790FTX-UDP5.

A few years ago I purchsed the Creative X-FI Fatal1ty sound card with the front drive bay which houses the various auxilary connections, optical, mic in and so on.

My question is, what would you use, the onboard sound chip or would you use the X-FI sound card?

Will there be a big difference in the sound quality, with the onboard sound being High Definition and the X-FI not being that, is that a issue or is it irrelevant?

Any further info, points, comments and so on will be glady received I'm just trying to see if it is worth me installing it or leaving the onboard to work away as it is doing fairly well at the moment.

Yeah I've actually just gone ahead and installed it, after MUCH hasstle it is working fine and DOES sound better I'm sure, sounds a lot clearer and sharper if that makes any sense.
