Hi
I found on my motherboard the original Overclocked CPU in my Bios so I saved it then exited it is over clocked from 2.66 to 3.4 GHz the only problem is when I test it on prime95 the temps went up to 97c in 5 mins so i decided to lower the blk from 170 to 155 which helped a bit now its at 3.100 GHz but still hitting late 80's after 5mins. is this a acceptable temp under load for my CPU or should I just load default
Thanks

what are you using to cool it?
that seems a bit high to me.....mine is a c0 920 and at 4ghz i can keep it a 70c on prime95 and 30c idle using a 360 rad and 6 noctuas push pull.....

That's not great. Iirc the ocuk staff reckon below 100 is alright.

60 would be very good. 70 quite good. 80 probably around the average for 4ghz, 90 a bit high, Cooling makes quite a big difference.

Seems very high, check your voltage setting and what cooling have you got. Running a 920 DO here at 4ghz, (20x200) with 1.293 vcore, highest temp with IBT/LinX of 67c.

Yes i am using the stock cooler only and a couple of 120mm fans in my case
Turned the blk down to 150 seems a lot cooler now but still in the 70s when using prime95
