Whats Af Mode and Metering Mode do?

I was told when taking portrait pics i should user AI Focus in AF mode. Why - I dont know.

Anyone care to explain more this to me?

AI focus updates the AF if the locked subject moves as appose to AF one shot which will just find AF lock and terminate.

bascically switches One Shot AF to AI Servo AF automatically.
