Going on holiday soon and going to give my sister my key so she can get in to feed the fish.

However the upend in my toilet is quiet dirty, I think it'd just limescale build up. The rest of the toilet is immaculate. No skids or pubes.

I've tried thr harpic gel but it doesn't seem to have done anything.

Could I sand it?

The final solution is to get all the water out and use Hydrochloric Acid

After reading how to use it safely, its so strong that it can eat through the surface of the toilet if your not careful.

I stick some bleach in the toilet and let it sit for an hour or so , usually takes out any grubbiness

I've done this before... Let it sit, and scrub it with the toilet brush. Repeat several times over a few days /weeks and it cleans up eventually.

What about the u-bend under the kitchen sink? Just take it off and clean it whatever? We did that at our flat and it was rank, and then promptly leaked for two weeks :o Surely there's some good extendable brush things.. :o
