Hey there,

or is it the other way round.

A quad core is usually better as each individual core tends to run at a faster speed and the amount of games that need more than a quad core are slim.

And to add to the info, a Intel Sandybridge is faster again.

Not many games out there use more than 4 cores at the moment. If you are looking for the best performance in games, the best chip out there at the moment is the Intel i5 2500K.

So this spec has a Crossfire/sli motherboard.

The same PSU as you selected which will do Crossfire 6950.

And its cheaper and uses less power from your wall socket.

Get a SSD later.

So I should get a single powerful card over 2 weaker cards?
And can you please spec me an Intel build for 850£ with the OS please

Yes, one strong card is better as it also has 2GB of Vram (crossfire you dont add the two cards memory together as the have the same data in both cards) and you can add a second 6950 2GB later for even more fun:D

As before really, but with a slight stronger PSU and a closed loop water cooler to get the chip to 4.5ghz+

Nice build but that cooler is pretty much useless to me as i cant overclock.

I've also been looking at this build and wanted to know if its any good and how to improve it.

Never fear, the motherboard has a little button on it, Called "OCgenie" press it and you have 4.2ghz.

http://eu.msi.com/product/mb/P67A-GD53--B3-.html

Just press the OC Genie button or enable OC Genie II function in BIOS menu, the CPU performance (P67 series) or the 3D performance of iGPU (H67 series) will be highly improved. Whether users want to watch a high bit-rate HD movie or go online gaming, both can be enjoyed with image performance that is smoother and lag-free!

The ram is very tall blocking a lot of aftermarket heatsinks, its also more expensive.

Use this Win7+HDD bundle (500Gb or 1TB) to save money - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SW-000-OP

with a 1 TB HDD and saved 10£ so ill go with that and what 8Gb of RAM do you recommend?
Thanks.

The kingston as used in above builds, or Corsair XMS3, they are both low profile so should you add a big heatsink it wont be an issue.

Pity you dont like the build I did above:(

I switched the RAM and from the previous build ive saved 12£, so with that saved money can I add it on to upgrade any component?
