Whats Faster?

Hi,

I currently have 2 80GB Seagate Barracuda's in RAID 0.

What do you think would be faster, the above or a single 320GB Samsung F1?

raid 0 will always beat a single hdd

The single drive will be faster.

In this case, the single drive - the 80GB Seagates are old and small, and the fact that they are RAIDed won't compensate for their relatively low areal density. Also, the newer drive is likely to have superior mechanicals and better-developed firmware, which will count for at least as much in real-life performance.

I think i'll go ahead and order the single drive as my 2 seagates are starting to show signs of slowing up!

Why don't you bench mark your raid array. For comparison here is a single 320gb f1. I've only done hd tune, but it should work for comparison.
