When my dad purchased his golf he was told that unless the container ship was something like 70% full of new cars, then it would stay in the dock until they had enough orders?
Back in June they racked back production to only 300/day. People currently ordering are being told their scirocco won't go in to production until week 47 (mid Nov). Normally it's only 4 weeks or so to delivery so it's not clear yet what happens between then and the proposed deliveries of March for those orders.
certain builds right across the range of skoda/audi/seat/vw are backing up
the 1.4tsi engine is very popular across all 4 manufacturers and is causing delays
there was also an issue with the glass roof on the scirocco being more popular than expected
I have been told upto 12 weeks for my new octavia vrs..again the shared engine across the range doesnt help as skoda will get the pre-assembled engine from the parent company..luckily the petrol isnt as popular as the diesel at the moment
Lol I have a Golf GT DSG as a company car but I love it Nothing wrong with a golf! Especially when my only other transport is a bike and its always raining these days
I am sure you can get the 200ps petrol engine but its dressed in such a dowdy body, you get crappy 17's and dual zone climare is a 700 quid option the robbers!
