Yey I got an Iphone its so much better than all the others its way faster and it looks very cool(better than the nokias or Samsungs) I can do so much that others cant :D

Ill just share my internet connection to my laptop through USB/Bluetooth, you try now ;)
Ill just install TomTom for satnav ;)
Ill just use my device as a removable drive through bluetooth ;)

Shoulda got an Omnia or Diamond if you wanted a touchscreen with all the toys ;)

Also, every other person has an iphone now, its not like they are a OMG you have an iphone gadget any more as they are so widespead so you cant even argue the l33t factor any more :p

Nothing but eye-candy tbh. Missing some of the vital features most if not all other mobiles have as standard.

- The ability to send MMS
- Bluetooth

IIRC, you can't even assign mp3's as a ringtone?

Apart from that it does the job of being nice to look at, from my experience of one not a lot else.

Whats the Iphone, 400x320 or something? The diamond is a 640x480 VGA screen, so you cant even try to argue that. THe Iphone is a lovely piece of kit, dont get me wrong, but I find it too restricted for the price of it.

Anyways, as Justin says, the OMG IPHONE SUX is getting boring now, so ill back out.

Bad move TBH mate, I own a PS3, Xbox 360 and a Wii, so you cant really call me biased ;)
 
Its pretty good at the internet, well except it lacks flash as well. But actually navigating around is nice. Most of its other "features" are neutered for no particular reason but Steve jobs thinks that's the way it is. Its a nice phone but its by no way a power users phone or the best on the market no where near, unless you start faffing and jailbreaking it to release real developer potential.

Whats lacking in the iphone is the poor camera (a real negative for me), lack of bluetooth (unlocked bluetooth), 2 handed operation (for a phone I want to be able to use it with 1 hand), lack of MMS and o2 (o2 3g is slow).

For me the perfect combination remains the ipod touch for internet surfing/music/videos - ie using the ipod's beautiful screen/slim width all combined with an N95 8Gb/N85 to use its HSDPA connection for the internet, great camera etc.

You're comparing a smartphone with a 'regular phone'. This is a situation where you're comparing a big Mercedes with a Mini Cooper. The Mercedes is faster and might have more comfort, but the Mini can drive/park in small places and they're not expensive like the Mercedes.

Where I'm going with this; The iPhone has really cool features, but not everyone uses all these features, don't have enough funds, don't want a big phone or just don't wanna be forced to get a subscription, and certainly not at an exclusive carrier.

I've had three Windows Mobile smartphones prior to owning the iPhone and Windows Mobile is equally as bad in my opinion:

  1. Poor ease of use - Unfortunately had to be mentioned
  2. Poor user interface - Especially for touch screens and is almost as bad for non-touch screens
  3. Slow user interface - To partially fix this, you have to flash to a custom firmware unlike the iPhone/iPod touch which is already fast out of the box (even better without any network branding whatsoever)
  4. No application distribution - Have to scour the Internet for applications whereas the you have the App Store and if jailbroken, Cydia and Installer
Surprisingly, the first three points haven't even been improved much after so many years since its release :p

The hardware specifications for the majority of Windows Mobile smartphones are certainly impressive however, let down by the operating system. iPhone OS works great out of the box unlike Windows Mobile. Anyone wouldn't certainly wouldn't be let down by Windows Mobile if they like to spend hours customising it. I've been there before and eventually got fed up by it :o

There's no phone/smartphone on the market that can cater to everyone's tastes. Not everyone will be using all the following features: MMS, video recording or realtime satellite navigation. Most likely you'll have to compromise a feature or two if you would like buy the phone you desire most. Fortunately for me, I didn't have to which is why the iPhone was most appealing for me :p

I could list a few more points but there's no use since it's just going to be the never ending Mac vs PC debate all over again :p

I disagree. I think that girl from Heroes is hot, oh and a few of those trendy Channel 5 news-readers are quite hot. However, your Iphone thingy is not hot.

Does your Iphone like fine chocolates, the smell of a half briar, a playful pat on the bottom??? I think not.

You could also add - crappy camera.

Never used on my previous phones (in fact my SE 950i didn't have one).

Just because something is on all other phones, it doesn't mean that it's vital. It just means it's vital to you.

The things I do miss are text forwarding and cut & paste.
