What's in the Box - Something new from Valve perhaps ?

It's just a cool little fan made thing by the looks of it, almost certain infact.

Incorrect.

The video and site were both made by the film director Tim Smit. Theres defo something going on here.

The link you posted says: 'So, unless they forgot to mention Valve contracted them for a viral marketing ad, this one remains labeled as an homage of sorts.'

Which would indicate that it is indeed a fan-made movie?

Yeah, two are from the HL universe and one is from Lost.

There's no way this is official with Lost stuff in there :(

I take this back, conspiracy theory go!
Obviously, this looks like being HL3, or at least Ep3. That blog's chock full of theories, far too much for it to just be a little fan thing.

If you have NoScript on you can see a script running from www.babel-research.eu

If you look at that site it's very interesting, especially the logos down the bottom. If I'm not mistaken the blue circle one is the portal logo??

Also what is the August 6th incident??

EDIT: definitely something fishy ;)

EDIT EDIT:

You can also see a picture of schrodingers cat pop up regularly in the bottom left of the site.

Its got the black mesa logo next to it as well.

If this is about ep3 i would rather they finished off hl2 story line rather than trying to start a new one with all this guff

Seems like a lot of effort for Episode three. Maybe we're getting a whole new half life, or maybe something from a different point of view, an Opposing Forces type thingie.

That was some pretty high production values for just a viral marketing campaign! What ever it turns out to be for, I hope it lives up to the hype that this is building up :)

hanso foundation? Dharma? Black Mesa?! Aperture Science, oceanic?!

Lost and valve

what the fudge!

also to further this: (according to my mate whos a lost geeky)
a pc in ep2 has the lost numbers on.
in lost, they were playing half life at one point?

Yup: http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Half_life

Half-Life 2: Episode Two (Video Game)

A DHARMA logo is hidden in Half-Life 2

The Numbers are hidden in Half-Life 2
There are two known Easter eggs in the first person shooter video game Half-Life 2: Episode 2 (Source: Kotaku.com)
In Half Life 2: Episode Two there is a DHARMA-like logo with three white trees hidden on a wall. This is referring to the "White Forest Station" where the player is headed. This is obviously not a DHARMA Station, and any other reference to Lost is made elsewhere.
There is a CRT monitor displaying the Numbers in a blocked hidden room in the second level. Switching on the designers comment at this place, you are told that the valve guys promised the directors from Lost to put it there after there had been references to Half Life in Lost; this happened in "The Greater Good," where the terrorists Sayid was spying on were playing Half-Life. A shotgun shot was heard, and the player said, "Crap, out of ammo." Another terrorist, watching the game, told the player to use the crowbar, to which the player responded that the crowbar only worked on zombies.
The Half-Life 2 series also has a main title screen that is very reminiscent of the menu screens for the Lost DVDs.

Wow, I hope its not official. It looks so amateur and crappy. It looks so amateur and the way the person only has their hands and the speed at which they look around means emotions and such are poorly done.

The designers in HL2 achieved something awesome with the environments they designed, going down to your local council estate and adding in some completely out of place space like technology looks rubbish.

the schrodingers cat, if clicked gives an mp3, if inverted gives: found. project attainable has failed

cant see that posted on that wikibruce

Its actually fairly near the top :p

Watch closely at the bottom of the website, to the left of the corporate logos. Occasionally, a small image of the schrodinger cat will appear.

When it appears, click it quickly, and you can download this audio file
(listen)

In reverse, this becomes a voice saying:

“found. project attainable has failed"
