Hi. I've got an old ASUS K8VSE deluxe, which has 3 ram slots. if only two are used I can use memeoery at 400Mhz (PC3200). At the moment I've got two 512 sticks in there, and a 1gb PC2700 stick in the third slot, so all meomory drop to PC2700 speeds. everest says 1500mbps read, 650 write.

so question is what's more important the double the ram size or double the ram speed?

pc is windows XP and only used for internet and office stuff - no ram heavy stuff.

I'd imagine the PC2700 would be happy to run at 3200 on stock timings, if not loosen the timings a bit. after u make the change check on everest again.

Can't see RAM speed making any difference for an office PC.

Can't see 2gb making any difference either tbh, but it's the better option in this case.
