What's next to the moon?

OMG it's all true!
Saw this as I finished work earlier tonight and walked across the car park to my car - I was wondering if it was Venus or not?
Tried Skyview free on the I Phone which failed - it seems to report the bright object next to the moon as Aldebaran
not Alderaan?

Hard for us Londoners to see that because of the pollution and all the lights from the city. 
Just been outside to have a gaze into the sky. Very beautiful, and I was able to locate many things just with the naked eye and Sky Map.
Saw a couple of shooting stars too. And I have not seen one of them since I was about 7. Shame the house is surrounded by trees and overlooks Leek.
