Whats some good HDD wiping software for XP

Need to wipe a friends old laptop completely and Need some software to use, I have heard off boot and nuke but are there any others that are better?

DBAN works fine.

Yep, DBAN every time. Its on the extremely useful, Ultimate Boot CD (UBCD), which is well worth keeping in your utility kit. Don't confuse it with the UBCDforWindows that's a different thing altogether.

Disk part in the command prompt "clean all"

Doubt that would work on the active disk though - you'd have to pull the drive out and run it from another PC. Hence the popularity of bootable solutions like DBAN.

Just boot up windows with the windows cd go to repair open the command prompt use "clean all" command then power of the machine. Just done it on my laptop for a fresh install worked a treat

DBAN is the main source like people have said never used it myself though
