What's that Razer?

Are they designed for a close clean shave, or can you get ones for trimming to keep the stubble look? I have heard good reviews about Merkur and I am on the look out for a nice shaver/razer.

I've had mine for two years now. Amazing razor. Blades are cheap as chips. I think for £5 I got 35 assorted blades. Have about 20 left!

Seeing as this thread is open, and I'm sick of crappy razors, where's the best place to get me one of these Merkins?

Did I say that right :o?

Amazon sell them at reasonable price. A standard Merkur ( I think ) is a 34C.

I got mine for Xmas so can't say too much, although I do know I got a nice new badger brush and stand for the razor and brush. I also was given some official nice soap which is very good and gives a great lather. The stand and brush is quite essential as you don't just want it lying around on the side.

The blades, as discussed in another thread, can be £10 for 100 blades. With that in mind, the initial outlay of a decent razor, brush and blades easily becomes economically viable.

Closest shave I've ever had and I could replace the blade once a week (no way near needed that much) and still have a new blade once a week for 2 years.

What we needs is comparethemerkur.com

It's available, and for a split second I was tempted, purely to add substance to this post...

There was one of these threads around a year ago and I must admit the idea appealed until someone posted a vid showing how to use them and the chap was talking about how a 3 pass shave gave excellent results and only took him 20 mins. Needless to say the idea died right there!

How long do you Merkurites take?
