Getting a 360 prem pack on thursday whats the adavantage of the VGA cable over the standard prem pack one? I've got a 32" LG HD TV if thats of any help.

Just theres a VGA cable for sale in MM and might get it?

Thanks, and sorry for being stupid.

improves the image... i.e turns the 360 into a very good dvd player
i persoanlly prefer vga, the colour problems can be easily sorted out

VGA > component imo

better clarity and better colours, which are too in your face for my likeing on component. also with component it stretches the picture so you miss some of it, unlike vga.

I agree but blacks are crap via VGA unless your LCD crushes black (not a good thing).

You are referring to overscan which, again dependant on a decent TV, can be turned off.

Errrrrr, ok. I think I'll just stick with the one thats in the box for a while. Then if I get bord of it or dont like it I'll get a VGA. Sounds like thats what most people have done anyway tbh, lol.

Don't get me wrong, I much prefer VGA overall but it does have some striking flaws.

Just don't get an unnofficial VGA cable. I got a madcatz one and it's terrible. It's kind of hard to explain, but it looks like there are several ghosted images, shifted to the right from the actual image.

erm vga cant touch component for watching movies

and you can get problems with vga on some games

VGA is far superior to component in my experience for DVD's, and you also can get problems using component cables too.

The VGA wins it for me, colours are without a doubt, less vibrant, but the added sharpness in games and dvds upscaled to 1360x768 does it for me.

Easiet thing to do is get both then find which you prefer, its only a few quid and worth it for the amount of use you'll no doubt get out of it. I have a 32' sammy lcd and settled on the vga, as for watching DVD's on a gaming console... i dont get enough time for gaming let alone a dvd :)

That's why I prefer it.

Also you could buy the official cable second hand, try it out, then sell it on only costing you the price of postage.

I've always been impressed at the DVD quality from my Xbox on the component cable (Tosh 32WL66). Might have to try out the VGA cable if it really is better

the only major problem i have with the official vga cable i have, is that backwards compatibility doesn't work, so you have to have a component cable to play original xbox games, the petition starts here! :D
