on sale on steam atm, what ones the best? prefer one with good graphics because i know some of them are quite old :P

Red Alert 1 & 2, Renegade multiplayer (SP sucked), Generals Zero Hour. None of which are in the sale.

For £3.74 you could give Red Alert 3 a go, it's nothing on the previous 2 games, but it's still good once you get used to it, managed to rack up 140 hours playing with a friend.

Red Alert 2 is probably my favourite followed by Generals and RA1 from a gameplay perspective.
Based on Nostalgia it's RA1 > RA2 > Generals! Remember playing RA1 on playstation before I had a decent pc :p

Best one? Red Alert.

Best Steam one? C&C3 probably - but that's like asking which finger you'd like lopped off.

Since Steam only has C&C3 and newer then it'll be C&C3 and the expansions. They're not great but playable and the campaign is still quite fun. RA3 is just god awful. C&C4 I've just purchased from this sale (thanks for the info :D). From the reviews I know it's bad but for £3.74 I'm gonna give it a try. No loss it I hate it.

Red Alert and Generals for me.

Playing Generals online was stupidly fun. It's just a shame the horrendous support from EA made it a very buggy experience.

C&C4 is such a nice looking great, great music and the cutscenes are ok!

But what the hell did EA do to this game, without a harvester and the stupid moving crawler ruined what could've been a top quality c&c game :(

C&C3 is the better game of the more modern look :)

It's surprising how many people rate Generals now. When it came out, I remember the massive uproar, because it "wasn't a real C&C game."
Generals sucked. Rocket Buggies with quad cannons = gg.

Zero Hour on the other hand was excellent and is definitely a classic RTS.

Trying to play Red Alert 2 these days is just painful, especially in a 2v2 where everyone runs out of money after 5 minutes. Bay of Pigs is always fun but that's only one map. :)

Tiberian Sun + Firestorm, or Red Alert 2 are my personal favourites. Tib Sun had deformable terrain, with enough atillery you could landscape the map.

I really enojyed C&C3, it reminded my very much of the original C&C classic which I used to love (even if it was brutally difficult).

Red alert 2 with Yuri's revenge was a real time stealer with me and a few mates a long time ago as well.
