As title really, whats the best monitor I can buy for £279.99

My Philips 190X6 just this minute got smashed, and I will be having to claim for it. As I don't think I will be able to get it repaired and as they no longer make it I don't think I will be able to get it replaced so I would imagine I will end up having to accept the money instead.

What's the best monitor I £279.99 can possibly buy?

I will mainly be using it for games, with the very occasional movie.

well you could get a nice 20"WS model for that, perhaps something like the Belinea 102035W, Philips 200W6CS or (just about) the Viewsonic VX2025WM. Plenty of info on each of these in the sticky too

What's the best monitor I £279.99 can possibly buy?

£20 more will get you the Dell 2007WFP 20". The Belinea 2225S1W 22" is arriving soon for £235 if you want exceptional value for money. Check out some reviews first of course since no one has one yet. Or there's the Samsung SM225BW 22" for £300. The Philips 20" is still a good choice but getting harder to find now, especially for a decent price.

They showed up with a replacement monitor called Philips 190B7 It looked complete **** compared to mine so I have refused it.

Anyone know if this is a decent monitor?

It looked like it had just been pulled out of an office block, where as mine looked very nice in my room which is why I chose it in the first place. The one they brought round can be picked up for £150 quid and wasnt even the rught colour

£150? Best price I've seen is £185 inc vat. Anyway, the 190B7 looks like a typical modern TN panel, just like your 190X6 but uglier.
