As title really, whats the best monitor I can buy for £279.99

My Philips 190X6 just this minute got smashed, and I will be having to claim for it. As I don't think I will be able to get it repaired and as they no longer make it I don't think I will be able to get it replaced so I would imagine I will end up having to accept the money instead.

What's the best monitor I £279.99 can possibly buy?

I will mainly be using it for games, with the very occasional movie.

Cheers all,

G

well you could get a nice 20"WS model for that, perhaps something like the Belinea 102035W, Philips 200W6CS or (just about) the Viewsonic VX2025WM. Plenty of info on each of these in the sticky too :)

£20 more will get you the Dell 2007WFP 20". The Belinea 2225S1W 22" is arriving soon for £235 if you want exceptional value for money. Check out some reviews first of course since no one has one yet. Or there's the Samsung SM225BW 22" for £300. The Philips 20" is still a good choice but getting harder to find now, especially for a decent price.

They showed up with a replacement monitor called Philips 190B7 It looked complete **** compared to mine so I have refused it.

Anyone know if this is a decent monitor?

It looked like it had just been pulled out of an office block, where as mine looked very nice in my room which is why I chose it in the first place. The one they brought round can be picked up for £150 quid and wasnt even the rught colour :(

Trying to phone them now.
