Software wise either Norton Ghost or Acronis True Image will do what you want. The big question though is whether the SATA drive will need any extra drivers to get it to boot.
If you're using a newer Intel or Nvidia based board then the SATA ports can be set in an IDE mode which doesn't require SATA drivers and hence everything should work.
