Whats the best SSD?

some people say intel are overpriced with there ssd's but i have also seen a few people on here with OCZ one saying they have failed. I would say if you have the budget then intel will give you peace of mind otherwise something like the one you have linked or the corsair nova seem to get a good name

While they may have failed, people don't create a topic saying their drive is working fantastic and they've not had any problems - so it creates a false illusion :p

Got 2 ocz ssd's in my pc now and now had issues with either, even after updating firmware.

Yhink i will go with the Crucial for now, if i get any issues i can just return and move to intel.

I am actually very loyal, if i find a brand i like i stick, i was with Western Digital untill they went me 5 duff velocraptor HDD's in 4 weeks.

The Crucial M4 looks the best at the moment from all the reviews i have seen. Was planning on picking one up myself.

Vertex 3 240gb - 3 months now not missed a beat. Apparently the 120gb had isues and my force GT is having major probs. I would give the 240gb V3 my rating.

30/09/2010 - Thats when I bought my OCZ Vertex 2.. no problems since I bought it and 100% no BSOD during normal use.. infact the only time I've had a BSOD is the IDE/AHCI loop and unstable prime 95benches to try and push past 4.3ghz on my e8600 :)

ohhh so thats why :l personally i have never heard of an ocz drive failing but ok.
would it be possible for an ocz drive to 'fail' when running in 'smart response' mode? and if so, would this physically matter in any way other than having to buy a replacement? aka will the data that was on the ocz drive when it failed be lost? or remain on the hdd also?

Yeah all these Crucial formus say use ACHI or something and mine doesnt even have it.

My windows index was 5.9 before and its now 6.4 with my memory and CPU being the lowest score.

Sad thing is i have a watercooled system and a e6580 chip (widely known as very overclockable) and i have never bothered trying to over clock it. So i may now have a go :P

I have an nVidia 680i mobo tho and there isnt much support for this things, as soon as you touch it, it boots in "safe mode". Well annoying thats why i have never touched it.
