What's the best way to format a new drive?

I have a pair of new Sammy 1.5TB Eco's, what's the best way to format these drives?

They are to be non boot storage volumes.

TBH just a quick format should be fine.

Sorry I meant should I be creating a dynamic or simple partition?

I'm using Vista.

Gonna RAID em?
I did with my 1Tb's would be crap if I lost a TB worth of files
Think that many files in one place was juts asking for trouble so went 2nd hand and bought 2 for the cost of 1 new

I'm guessing you got those at the recent "special" price, nice one

Aye I did, they're formatting away as I speak.

I'll run a bench when they're done, though the figures aren't that important to me since they're just to hold files and play the occasional video.

I'm not going to RAID them, I'm not really sure of the benifets of a RAID 1 system at home even with a backup system.
