What's the best way to test memory?

I put two 512mb dimms in my PC, and I'll swear since then it's been more likely to have problems...

Is there a utility I can run to test the integrity of ram?

Memtest86+

http://www.memtest86.com/

- Check RAM voltages are set to recommended value.
- Disable Legacy USB
- Run memtest86 for several passes. If you want to be thorough run it on with only 1 stick at a time.

Many thanks... I'll try it...

Seems to mainly happen when my little one is playing games in browsers (FireFox, Chrome) so it may well be something else...

The machine is only used for browsing and Outlook, and a Squeezebox server.

No, typically just browsers bombing out. Last night Outlook reported a 'memory' error when closing - but that's the first problem it's had...

Have you run a prime95 torture test (blend is pretty good)

That will tell you if you have issues.
