whats the biggest game file you installed?

World of Warcraft. I think they've compressed things a bit now but it used to be around 40GB

It has never been that big. In fact, it is now the largest it has ever been. I have 3.3.5a, 4.3.4 and 5.3 clients installed.

3.3.5a: 17GB
4.3.4: 20GB
5.3: 25GB

Rounded up or down to nearest GB. If I remember rightly the TBC client was 14GB and Vanilla was around 10GB

It was definitely huge at one point and close to 40GB. Quite a portion of that may of been updates, I always kept them to save downloading a second time around.

I think i had close to 75gb of UT2K4 files when i was playing seriously. Lots of custom maps, audio, images, models etc really started to get silly when each server had its own custom stuff for each map! On slow Broadband back then it took along time! Downloaded a lot of community packs while i was out during the day so i could play in evenings!

Quick run of spacesniffer shows the following

World of Warcraft - 23.7GB
The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition - 23.5GB
Battlefield 3 - 22.6GB
GTA IV - 16.2GB
RIFT - 15.2GB

Steam folder is currently 320GB in size.

I think with some of the AAA titles that have been mentioned, the publishers artificially increase the file size to deter piracy due to the massive download. An example of this would be Max Payne 3. The PC download is 29GB whereas on console the overall data size is a maximum of 8.7GB as it has to fit on the DVD disc.

The Secret World is probably the largest I've installed recently at just under 40GB, and that is without any patch files, screenshots, ect.

I just nearly choked my mouthful of tea reading that.
I bought this the other day. I didnt even realise the file was this large.
Now i know why my hdd partition ifs full. Time for a clean out me thinks. I only use a 500gb hdd so space is at a premium.

Battlefield 3 with all expansions, just over 34Gb. Then probably most current gen games such as Crysis 3, Hitman, Bioshock Infinite etc.. 15Gb ish.
