What's the catch?

Just noticed these 500gb Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 SataII drives in the OC clearance section.

Has anyone bought a b-grade drive before and did they have any problems? Seems like a bargain from what I can see.

Warranty: 14 Days (OcUK) + Any additional balance of warranty remaining with the vendor of this product.

NOTE: B Grade hard drives have been refurbished by the vendor to an as new condition and are in perfect working order.

Thats the only catch so to speak

Sounds fair enough, I'm thinking about running 2 of these in Raid 1.

Basically you might not get the proper packaging and manuals as well as a reduced warranty as mentioned above.

I've found the Seagate Warranty page so I assume you purchase the drive from OC and then you can check from the serial number how much warranty the drive has left.

I know Seagate have 5 year "limited" warranty normally on their drive so it will be interesting to fill this out.

In case any one asks why, its christmas, so why the hell not.

We do this a lot at work, RMA the drives, get the repaired ones back, and sell em... there's no real issue as it's a manufacturer repair, not some bodge job...
