what's the cheapest windows that'll run SQL Server

my client switched from a single workstation to a small LAN and now needs a SQL server to run BCM and Accounting and stuff ... he's already got a nix server though so he doesn't need anything fancy... what's the cheapest windows version that'll run MSSQL?

All of them XP/Vista/W7 in any flavour will run it. It just makes sense to get the same OS as the clients so you only have one type to administer.
