whats the difference?

can someone point out to this idiot (me) what the difference is between these two processors? Apart from one being oem (I know that) and the other being boxed,

AMD Athlon 64 4000+ San Diego (Socket 939) - OEM (CP-175-AM)

and this one

AMD Athlon 64 4000+ (Socket 939) - Retail (CP-120-AM)

what I mean is are they both san diego or is one a venice?

Both SD but 1 has a 3 year warranty and supplied with a HSF.the other isn't

ones oem and ones retail, 1 or 3 years warrenty and one has no heatsink

The retail version comes with a better warranty and a heatsink/fan I think. Otherwise they should be identical.

Both SD

All the OEM 4000+ are san diegos but the retail versions are a mix of clawhammer and san diegos.
I'd get the oem version as sd's are better clockers and get a AC Freezer 64 pro with the money saved.

thanks guys, it was lee87 that had the info I wanted, I did wonder if there was a difference to the cores. I've ordered the retail I'm afraid, still on the bright side I may never receive it, as the idiots at this end have had the dang thing out for delivery for the last three days and there is still no sign of it
