Hard Drive experts!

Here's the situation.

I bought new computer parts from OverclockersUK, and they came yesterday.

These parts included this Hard drive
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-257-SE

The issue is that I get the error "A disk read error occurred" when booting my computer after having seemingly installed windows.

HERE'S THE WEIRD THING

The BIOS does not detect my hard drive, no matter which SATA port I connect it to.

BUT When I install windows it knows that there is a 1TB hard drive, and seems to successfully partition it and then continues with the install until it seems to finish, then restarts, then comes up with that error.

So what is up with that?!

It could be the Master Boot Record (MBR) sector that it's damaged..
From here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Master_boot_record

The MBR may contain one or more of:

A partition table describing the partitions of a storage device. In this context the boot sector may also be called a partition sector.
Bootstrap code: instructions to identify the configured bootable partition then load and execute its volume boot record.
Unique 32-bit disk signature, even though it may never be used by the operating system

So, maybe it's faulty..
What to do??.. IF that turn to be the problem, then return the disk.. It's not reliable anymore..
How to know if it's the problem??.. Run a check disk program.. Under DOS or attached as an external drive..

Best regards.. :)
