What's the ¬ key for?

I have to put up with that all the time you can use altgr + q for @ though having to program on that keyboard is a nightmare, why would some sadist think it was a good idea to have all the brackets and braces as altgr combos on the number line is anyones guess.

Square brackets indicate that something has been added to a quote by the author to add more context. Generaly you would use normal "round brackets" in normal, non-quoted text, so the above would be sort of correct if it wasn't quoted text, though not a very well constructred sentence in that case.
