What's the matter with my Speed Triple?

If the starter doesn't work until the fuel pump has finished priming then that's most likely normal and controlled by the ecu.
You've now got to find why the fuel pump is taking longer to prime (and it could be as simple as a weak battery). Could be the fuel pump itself, the fuel filter starting to get clogged, a kink in a fuel line, it's unlikely to be a leak as you'd have smelled the fuel, possible a leaky injector but unlikely as I'd expect it to cause running issues.

Morning!

So...I've had my triple a few months now. When I first got her she would start immediately. Recently however, I now have to wait maybe 15-20 seconds before she'll turn over.

This is obviously some electrical glitch, and I can only assume it's to do with the fuel pump/priming or something. When you turn the ignition on, you hear the fuel pump priming and when it's finished the bike will turn over and start. Up until then the starter button does nothing (i.e. doesn't attempt to turn over).

Anyone seen anything like this before? The bike still starts and runs perfectly, just with this 15s delay!

2015 Speed Triple :)
Hi there. Just wondering if you ever resolved this issue?, Going through it myself at the moment. Thanks :)

I'm always surprised how many randoms we get on the forum who post 1 question in Motors and never return. Surely it would be better to ask the question on a dedicated forum, where there's a higher possibility of finding someone who had the issues and resolved it? I might just be overthinking it, so please ignore me. :p

They probably Googled this specific issue they were having and the OCUK thread was reccomended at some point in the search results. They would then have to sign up if they wanted to post a follow up. You're right though that they would be be better off joining a manufacturer / bike specific forum, but I think I'd probably Google the exact issue first expecting the results from a dedicated forum to come up.

i had this same issue with mine, started doing it one day, it then over time devolved in to maybe waiting up to 2 mins, did clutch switch, start button, sprag, turned out to be the ecu

Really miss my 955i STriple, lost it due to a hit & run, b**tard picked it up from under his car and drove off leaving me with a broken bike and fractured elbow.
