The effective max res on my Samsung SyncMaster 17" CRT is 1024x768 at 85Hz - I can't stand a refresh rate any lower than that. But that's fine - I find the optimal setting for my setup is 1024x768 4xAA/4xAF anyway.

Max is 2048 * 1536 @ 75 hz

But I find 1600*1200 @ 100 hz is better for the eyes.

Suprising to see so many people with max resolutions under 1600x1200 - I guess this is down to the proliferation of TFT monitors these days with 17"/19" being common.

Shouldn't this thread be in the Monitors section though? We are talking the max resolution your monitor supports, which makes the graphics card pretty irrelevant.
