What's the most "accurate" type of oven?

Hah, i'd love to see someone get one of those up my stairs into my flat :D

Defo leaning towards gas at the moment.. the only annoying thing is, I hate gas hobs! (i'm getting a free-standing cooker, not separate hobs).

How big is your block of flats? You may not be able to have gas

Hmmmmmmmm okay well i've been looking into it more... and i'm starting to be swayed :P

The oven I had before was a decent one (AEG) and it defo had a hot spots... which makes me wonder if the 'fan assisted' moniker actually meant anything!

Gas ovens all the way, electric just dries everything out

This man speaks the truth - and it's the biggest reason I love gas ovens and would never ever go back to electric.

The gas does indeed help to keep the food moist whilst cooking (Propane, Butane and Natural gas all produce water vapour during combustion. Butane gives the most.) - whereas the element in an electric oven will just produce a hot dry environment which isn't what a proper chef wants ;)

And in regard to temperature - I have two thermometers in my oven - one on the lower shelf and the other on the top shelf - both viewable through the glass at the front - and totally controllable.
