what's the most expensive thing you've broken?

£250,000 Dual Mode Tracker (TV camera) in the nose of a Harrier GR7 in '97 - a classsic "have you got it, yeap, SMASH, nope" moment :(

£5k worth of 50" Pioneer plasma :(

Was taking it off the wall and couldn't remember how the bracket worked (I had fitted it myself some 3y earlier) and when one end starting moving away from the wall I thought it was a swing-out-horizontally hinge but it was just one end coming off the top of the bracket lip.

It all happened in slow motion and I even considered showing my foot underneath to break the fall... glad I didn't as it would have been the foot that broke!

None I can say.

I don't get how people can drop expensive things or spill liquid over them in terms of a TV or laptop etc.

There are way too many careless people out there and it has to be said many of them are women. :p

My (former) car door. I reversed into a fence while it was still open and it twisted right off the hinges into the bodywork. I felt like a complete fool.

..was that when you visited Thorpe Park, Simon? ;)

Many womens' hearts (or so I like to think)

Erm.. The worst one for me recently was coming back from a day out at the beach where I bought me and the missus these great big straw hats in an attempt to keep the sun off AND be funny at the same time.

So next morning I wake up with a bit of a hangover. Had one of my best mates kipping on the sofa and thought "it will be funny to look like I woke up with that great big silly hat on"

So I don the hat, reach down to turn the PC on and the hat tipped over a pint of water all over my PC, plugboard, headphones - got to love that "crackling" noise and electronic burning smell.

Not my best day :(

Actually lol'd. Good one :D

Erm my friends iPhone when I accidentally dropped it on the floor shattering the screen. Only afterwards did he tell me that he didn't have insurance on it, was gonna swap it with mine for the insurance till I realised that they had my phones serial number.

My companies servers (several times) when pushing too much data through. Only a £750k cluster that had to be purged of data and restarted (no idea how much business they lost when the site and tools were down)

My uncles old BMW 328i sport. Still don't know how I managed it, but reckon it would have gone anyway, so better it did outside our house than on the motorway.
