Whats the most graphically demanding game?

Sorry. :)

I'm a programmer, so 'bad code' is a tad different to 'badly optimised' for me.

My stuff tends to be both. :D

I'm a programmer too and while my work is far from game development I know how coders in that field have to work. Game code is very different ball to everything else - it's all about optimisation. In this area badly optimised code IS bad code.

Call of Warez is the most demanding and well coded game I have played recently!

The most demanding game I have would be Oblivion. Even when the FPS is over 40, my mouse still lags like mad. Stalker is just so poorly made it's not funny so that doesn't count.

Oblivion looks pretty but the engine is pure garbage IMO

I agree, especially when there are a lot of units, even if they are hidden in the fog of War, my X1900XTX couldnt handle it on high.

Well isn't that more to do with CPU then GPU? I say that cos the game looks to naff to be affected by GPUs

Graphicaly demanding is different to Hardware demanding. Games like MTW2 will hammer your CPU when you have a lot of units. A fully patched STALKER doesnt rbother my rig at 1600x1200 at full setttings. Armed Assualt slows to a crawl when i walk through trees which considering the hardware i have must indicate poor optimisation/coding.

Are those ingame shots or cut scenes, they look fantastic either way, what spec you running that on and how does it play?

Oblivion is sadly the most demanding. My rig runs it 16xQ and 16x all high at only 20-30 fps :( Dunno if its somithing with vista. It sucks. a GTX should be able to run it

Ingame =]

I run a moderate gaming rig, 4200+ x2, 2gb ddr400, 8800gts 320mb, xfi gamer, dell 2007wfp and vista ultimate 32bit.
