Whats the most you have splashed out on software?

In fact mine must be either total war /rome/shogun series or civilization series (all, every expansion all full retail), if I am allowed to add them all together.

£1500 for Design software plus another £2300 for training and £400 to sit an exam before i could be registered to use it. Added another package to it for £800 a year later.

Edit - Actually most expensive single piece of software was Autocad 2008 Full Version at £2800. :(

Sonic and Knuckles of the Megadrive, was like £50 and didn't even come in the normal plastic box, but it was worth every penny because you could connect Sonic 2 and 3 to the top of it and play Knuckles in them or complete it all the way through getting all the Chaos Emeralds and thus HYPER SONIC!!!!

I seem to remember that PS1 when it was originally released was somewhere between £200 and £250.

£399 for Real 3D on the Amiga in about 1992. I was really into my amateur rendering in them days.

Some amount on WinXP, I forget how much. But I'm still using it, so it's been good value for money. Probably less than £1 a month. Other than that, £30 for some games. I use freeware off the net for everything else (Open Office, VirtualDub, etc), so that's just the odd fiver here and there for donations.

About £30 on a game.

All OS software/office software I have either came with a used PC as a licence, or was given to me by a mate who seems to attract freebies of everything Microsoft ever made.

£439.45 - Ableton Live Suite

I used to be in to software piracy, cracks, keygens, etc, but I 100% grew out of it.

Solidworks Professional @ £8000 a seat + £1500 training package + £1000/seat support and i was in charge of deploying a fair few seats across the company i worked at and our design consultants :D
