Whats the most you have splashed out on software?

Hmm, I think Reason 3 I then lost the receipt that would have allowed it to be upgraded to Reason 4.. rather annoyed! Majority of other software purchases have been around £70 such as iWork, OSes and games on the odd occasion etc.

I remember purchasing Borland Turbo Pascal and Acorn ARM C++ for RISCOS which where about 70 and 100 or so.. back in 1992/3.

£150 for VMware workstation7
£70 for Windows 7 Professional when it was on special offer.

Recently we've got £80 on OS X 10.5 Leopard and a Windows 7 Pro pre-order so around £75.

Annoyingly I got a free copy of 7 Ultimate when I went on training last week, had I known I wouldn't have bothered pre-ordering.

Surely you can cancel your pre-order?

If we include stuff I've purchased for work, then well over £100k in licensing in one go.

At home, would probably be a game of some description, so lets say £50 ish.

Youngsters ;) Back in the day stuff was expensive. My first cd writer was £260, 2 speed ;)

My first cost £5000 and we had to buy 2x 1 gig SCSI hard drives to feed it.
you put the stuff on the first hard drive, made an image to the second hard drive then burned it to a £12 disk.
Five of us had paid into it and we were supposed to have it for a week each.
The 2nd guy to have it was into all things dodgy and the police called to have him for phone phreaking (basically he was downloading stuff from America on BT Engineers codes).
While in the house they found 50 copies of Microsoft Encarta that had just come out and they confiscated his computer equipment :(
I never got my money back.

Adobe Lightroom, £130ish? Can't remember precisely.
Vista next at £75 for Ultimate OEM x64, IIRC.
[edit]
No, OSX 10.4 Tiger for my old Powerbook, £89.99
