What's the nearest thing to Wipeout on the 360?

Split/Second is similar to Burnout and if I remember correctly it was created by some former developers of Burnout. Theres a demo on Live that you can download. There is also Blur, which I wasn't all that impressed about when I played the multiplayer beta, but again I think a demo is now freely available. Give both a shot and see what you fancy.

I cant think of anything more similar to Wipeout on the 360, both are in the same ball park at least.
 
I think I'm right in saying that Split/Second uses the environment to affect gameplay whereas Blur just has powerups like Wipeout?
 
The closest is Quantum Redshift on the Xbox 1. No idea if it's backwards compatible and it was pretty average.

There's also Fatal Inertia on 360, there's a demo available but I don't remember it being very good.
 
I tried both the Blur and Split-Second demos last night. Personally I think Split-Second has a nice graphical style overall, but Blur is the more intense game and is better overall. The problem with SS is that once you're in front, there's not much for you to do other than just...race, whereas in Blur you're still fending off attacks and can fire weapons backwards, which adds to the fun a bit more.
 
Just get a PS3 and Wipeout HD + Fury. My PS3 is basically a wipeout and bluray box, if you like Wipeout you won't be disappointed ;)
 
£300 odd quid to play just Wipeout might be a little extreme though :p

I love Wipeout, might get a PS3 for that and a few others if it ever gets cheaper, such a shame it isn't multiplatform.
