Whats the point??

I was thinking tonight what the point of life is?? Can it even be summed up?

I used to believe in God, i am not sure if i still do or not. But what do people find that makes them tick??? Even if i was a millionaire and could buy everything i wanted i still don't think i would be content. Can you be fully content with life? Bah i give up.
 
1. You should be happy, you know certainly that money doesn't buy happiness.

2. You should be happy, anyway.

3. And seriously - if you're worried, don't hesitate to look for help, buddy. Don't give up.
 
Thanks for the words guys, sometimes i just get lost with it all. i know a lot of people out there have it harder than myself, i should just stop thinking so much!

I used to think money was everything. If you've got money, I used to say, you can have beautiful birds, handsome suits, a car of your own. But those things ain't a bit of use without good health.

You know what? When I look back on my little life and the birds l've known, and think of all the things they've done for me and the little l've done for them, you'd think l'd had the best of it all along the line. But what have I got out of it?

l've got a bob or two, some decent clothes, a car. l've got my health back and I ain't attached. But I ain't got my peace of mind. And if you ain't got that, you ain't got nothing.

I don't know, it seems to me that if they ain't got you one way,they've got you another. So, what's the answer? That's what I keep asking myself. What's it all about? You know what I mean?

There is no point.
From a biological point, to breed.

From a normal view. To have fun and enjoy yourself for more days than the days you are upset.
 
Purpose of life is simple

Eat
Drink
Sleep
Love
Sex
Babies
Pr0n
OcUK
Money? :eek:

Finally ...Death

Mix the others around and that = Happiness. Simple. Well thats what i think anyway :p
 
I don't believe there is any objective purpose and as a determinist I don't believe there is anything I can actively do or aim for as a subjective purpose in my life since free will is an illusion. So basically I am just sitting back and seeing where this journey takes me.
 
I became happier when I stopped thinking there should be a point to my life and accepted that there isn't one.

Unless you're one of the few with some extreme ability, there is no point other than one you create yourself.
 
Each of us is part of an unbroken chain of life stretching back a few billion years. There is only one point... to do your best to make sure your bit of the genetic puzzle doesn't reach a dead end. You'd be letting down all those organisms which survived long enough to reproduce throughout evolutionary history.

So get out there and procreate. It's your duty!

Andrew McP... currently looking like a bit of an evolutionary cul-de-sac. So do as I say, not as I do.

PS The side effect of having kids is that you no longer have the time to sit around wondering what the point of it all is. ;-)
 
Very philosophical.

The point of life is to do and achieve all that you want to and accept that you will make some mistakes along the way. The difficulty is working out what you want, and getting it when you want it!
