Ive just got a new job, ive been working there for a week now.
Its a Shop that sells Automotive parts and things to do with cars and cheap little accessories like car air fresheners.
I would imagine it would be the Equivalent of your Halfords.

Now when i got the job a month or so ago(The store wasnt open yet) It was all good.
All the staff that got hired had meetings so we would get to know each other and the owners.
We got told we would be getting paid around $20AUD an hour(Around 8.5 pounds) or there abouts depending on our age.
I thought Bloody Great!, Thats around $800 a week.
Last monday we started to set up the store for opening which is next week. All was goodish exept for not having any day time too my self due to traveling to work and the times i worked.

Then we got Paid on thursday.
And it turns out we have all not been paid what they said we would
I make $12AUD an Hour  (Around 5 GBP)
Now i was really ****** off when i found that out but ive kept quiet and only really talked about it with other staff who arnt too pleased them selves.

Then today happned.

I originally got a letter when i first got the job from them saying.

Congratulations Mr Zip we are offering you a part time Position in our store.

Now part time would mean I get 10 paid sick days a year and 4 weeks paid annual leave.

But today When talking to one of the owner me and another staff member were told We were only Casuals
Which Means we get paid more per our then Full timers or part timers but that means bugger all on my wage

But Being a bloody Casual Means i dont Get Sick days or annual Holidays
I wouldnt mind if i had a decent wage in the first place but this is ******* ********

I even do the same amount of hours as Full timers!

So now i dont think its worth me working there and having to travel there.
Im getting very frustrated and losing all motivation for the Job.

Im thinking about leaving But the store doesnt open until next monday.

So should i wait awhile or leave as soon as i find something else?

1hr literally...first job as a double glazing salesperson:p. Sat down, was told to make random calls to people from a phone book :/...which didnt sit too well with me. Made 2 calls and got abused, which i dont blame the people for doing..got up and told the manager to shove the job where the sun dont shine. Didnt bother asking for 1hrs pay either:p

You must have guessed double glazing sales may have involved cold calling :)

The job or...

Longest I've been in a job was 2 weeks, printing off maps...only reason I stayed for so long was it was £6ph, and I needed the money, then I figured 'sod-it I don't need it that bad.

Right. If your letter stated the contract hours, holiday et cetera then it would almost certainly state wages on that.

Secondly, what you are getting sounds about right for the job you are doing. Bearing in mind the very low cost of living in Oz and you are doing quite well. 8.50 an hour would be expected of a supervisory or even mangerial position.

A day, 3 occasions

1 - Strawberry picking when I was 16, back killing, sunburn and sun stroke inducing, rash everywhere and got paid £13 for 6 hours in the sun (you get paid by the amount you pick, and i've never done it before so I wasn't quick at it), never again.

Summer job after 1st year at uni.

2 - Checking the plastic carton that Butter goes in for dirt. Boring isn't the word, coma inducing is more like it.

3 - Putting a nut on a bolt, wore gloves and that still cut my hands to pieces. Also had to work with a guy who keep asking about my sister..............

Well in a way yes but wasnt expecting to sit in a downstairs office, making phone calls to random people. If anything i thought id be on the actual shopfloor talking to customers but sadly i was mistaken.
