You're made of sterner stuff than me. lol

I was told to get six months' experience under my belt before trying to get anywhere in IT...So I stuck it out that long.

Bloody place gave me stress-induced stomach ulcers.

About 6 hours at a garden centre, instead of anything garden related I spent the day collecting trolleys. For £3.20 an hour at 17 I decided that was a no go (especially as I already had another part time job paying more). The bonus was I called in sick the next sunday (only worked sundays) then quit the week after so I got paid for two days and only worked one.

Why whine at £5, sure it's crap money but if your living with your parents then whats the problem? you don't have to pay rates etc. Im on £4 an hour and used to be on £3.80, im not whining though, yep it's absolute crap money. But then again you see the state of the postal workers moaning about how much they get paid, yet there job isn't exactly rocket science yet they take strikes all the time. About time another postal company came round.

There are already others, solicitors use DX, next day guarantee service and fixed rate. They come check once a year to see how much mail you sent and work that out over the course of the year....nice of them to tell you in advance when they are coming too ;)

A day, 3 occasions

1 - Strawberry picking when I was 16, back killing, sunburn and sun stroke inducing, rash everywhere and got paid £13 for 6 hours in the sun (you get paid by the amount you pick, and i've never done it before so I wasn't quick at it), never again.

I used to love strawberry picking, I did it almost every summer from the age of 13 to 18. I average haul was around £6-7 an hour to sit around in the sun picking fruit. You just need to work out how to sit so it doesn't hurt your back. I always had really sore parts on the outside of my index finger though from my thumb nail.

1 day at E-Sure. Filing for a bunch of retarded 16 year old girls. I think the recruitment agency really failed that day. I spoke to the supervisor at the end of the day said 'no offence, but I won't be back tomorrow'. But hey, I still got £20 or so for it. That went a long way on beers.

Centrica (British Gas) - 2 - 3 months, following up debts part time whilst at Uni, possibly the most boring job I have thing I have ever done,

1 week, I started and it seemed quite a good job, designing circuit boards, they were going to train me up and the money was ok. When I started the only guy who could train me quit so I was left doing nothing all day. It was so dull I couldn't hack it any more and walked out.

I worked in a factory making conduit fittings for lights and the boss told me I would be paid for doing 25 hours work at £5 per hour..
This was a few year back and £5 wasnt bad really.
I did my 25 hours work and I got my wage packet..
Opened it up and there was £50..
I said wheres the rest and he said its been a bad week I cant afford to pay you anymore..

I took the £50 and got me m8 to scratch his car ..

Im now working on a market stall and Ive been on there 20 years this January and I hate it :-)

That happened to me once. I got just under 8 quid an hour to do nob all for four months.
