5 days. Walked out in the middle of the nightshift. Had nothing else confirmed...but couldnt have stood it any longer, what a dreadful outfit (despite the good money).. a popular DIY chain , Not the green one though ;-)

A week in a Garden centre.

"This is the peat machine, hold these trays under it and scrape off the excess"
Come and see me when you've finished that lot"
*points at a about 20 pallets of stacked trays.
"OK boss" ....

A dark, damp shed, stood in front of the machine for a week solid on my own, no one else to speak to and too noisy for conversation anyway.

**** that
It was a case of "Compost this you ****" and I left

Ace thread this one.

My first ever job was really actually quite funny. I started working for an agency that had a hugh contract from BT to process all these `faxback` forms that would come of the computer. There was about 25 people in the room and we were all told at the same time we all got the job. We did like 2 hours of training which was paid for out first shift and then the work was due to start the following day. During that said day i was phoned up and told I didnt need to come in to work becuase BT has only had 5 replies so far and wouldnt need me to work but since I was working for the agency I would still be paid. This continued for two weeks, they tried to fob me off then and said the job had ended and I was like well I signed a contract for three months work so expect to be paid for three months. I think there was about 4 or 5 people that got paid in full for the three months. So yeah 2 hours for three months pay!.

About an hour picking strawberries. Boss man was fine but his minions came along and were really rather rude to you if you'd missed a fruit or divided them up incorrectly. Hated their attitude, told boss I felt sick and went home.

Half an hour in a newsagents when I was 15, figured I'd be behind a till or something but I ended up stuck cleaning the shop floor. Even got the £2.50 I was owed for the work :D

3 Days at this school supplies place.

Went to an agency and they asked if I knew InDesign. Sure I said, I know the basics. Got to the place and found out I was expected to design this whole maths book. I didn't have a clue what to do!

I did know someone who got so bored during school work experience he went home on the monday lunch time. 10 years later he'd become a forklift mechanic. When he had to go back to the company the maintenance supervisor looked him in the eye and said "You took a while having lunch".

Seriously impressed he remembered him!!

I got a job at the local Haven Holidays working in the arcade, little did I know I would be sent on a "Create the Magic" training day. It consisted of spotty, greasy individuals mildly flirting with each other in some kind of americanised group hugging, self affirming nightmare.

I made my feelings known after five hours and left

Less than 1 hour at Tk Maxx. Got called a white ***t by some asian bloke, so I told him to **** off, left the store and went straight into the purple store and bought a Nintendo Wii and went back to my uni flat to play Twilight Princess with house mates. Haha.

Lasted a week at an auctioneers. Office job turned into a day emptying a house of furniture and then a day at a cattle market loading animals on and off lorries. Not so good being a veggie.

1 week in an oil filter factory. was on an agency contract, i worked 2 night shifts, 1 afternoon and 2 morning shifts in 5 days. by saturday i could have slept on a chickens lip!
