Excluding something like an RPG which ones would you care to mention?
Resident Evil
Tomb Raider
Rainbow Six
Metal Gear Solid Series
Hitman Series
Splinter Cell Series
Broken Sword
Grim Fandango
Half Life
Zelda: The Ocarina of Time
Zelda: The Wind Waker
Zelda: The Twilight Princess
Deus Ex
Fahrenheit
Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic Series
Sam and Max: Hit The Road

Those are off the top of my head, could be a longer list if I really thought about it! Stories in games work differently to those in movies or books, it's often the element of interactivity that works well, so something like Dead Rising would do it for me.

Many of those are RPGs though.

I think games are more suited to film style releases. One big game, with a sequel after a couple of years. I think it's too hard to make regular releases for episodic content.

Something that I think is worth mentioning in this thread is polymorphic content. That's when you tell a story on multiple mediums and they all link into each other. The Matrix did it (the story of the game ran alongside the films, plus there was the animatrix) and now Square-enix are doing it for FF7 (games on multiple platforms and a film, I think there is even a book that's supposed to tie into it).

No they aren't, none of them are. I suggest you learn what genre is what. The only one that comes close to an RPG is Star Wars.
RPG's are games like Final Fantasy or possibly The Elder Scrolls. All of those are first person games, third person games, point and clicks or adventure games.
Unless you take it literally, because you play a role in every game.

Pretty sure Zelda is regarded as an RPG. Also Deus Ex is arguably an RPG, albeit an FPS/RPG hybrid. Isn't kotor pretty much like an AD&D game? If it is then it's most definitely an RPG (can't get more RPG like than dungeouns and dragons).

Zelda is classified as an actionRPG.
