A few hours in 3dsmax and I could have a fully modelled, rigged and animated robot moving more realistically than that.

Well of course you could, the real question is wether or not you could have done so with the tools of the time.

The roller coaster tycoon 2 addon, Time Twister. All it is is a bunch of new themes, there was me hoping it had new rollercoasters :(

Is that Rise of the Robots trailer real :o
Its got to be a mickey take. I reckon the announcer is actually talking about a different game :p

Braveheart by Eidos. It was massively buggy Total War type of game (but long before), with really limited campaign, broken AI on battlefields and every time they would release a patch, to fix massive bugs, like battles that wouldn't have resolution because enemy run away outside the map and you couldn't reach them pinned to the edge of the map with your spikes through invisible courtain of time and space, the patches would ruin your saves and you had to start from the beginning. I wasted half a year believing it would actually be playable at some point...

Operation Flashpoint

hate that game, although it seems hugely popular

i threw it away about 2 years ago

Without doubt no one can ever beat the pile of crap that is ROBOCOP.
Played this game for 2 minutes before it went back on the shelf never to be installed again.

GET OUT OF HERE NOW!

:p

Why, It's a big disappointment tbh. After all the hype of it being a cutting edge game, it's no more detailed than HL2E2 and GoW game that I just completed. At lest I could play them at 1920 @ highest settings. Of course, the vastness and draw distance is impressive to say the least but that's all there is to write about really. It’s just re-living a four year old game that was once Far Cry.

The AI is practically non existent and enemies run around like headless chicken and look like crash test dummys on Ready Brek. At one point, whilst taking cover in a toilet somewhere, two enemies just stood there looking at me and didn’t fire until I did. Maybe they just wanted the loo I dunno. I don’t call this progression.

The Nano suit does have some useful features but nothing that hasn’t been seen before and its interface is quite fiddly.

The game is also riddled with bugs some of which are [edit] reminiscent of previous DX8 releases [/edit]. It’s appalling to be honest.

With this in mind, if the design is this bad on the outside then god knows what’s going on internally with the code and begs the question; is it poor code that’s dragging the performance down to its knees? If this truly is next gen software, then my Gran is the Bionic woman. Games which provide the highest setting should be playable on the current top hardware configuration available. If that’s not the case, then what else have these games been tested on? I think both the developer and the publisher have a lot of explaining to do.

The graphics at the time were revolutionary..shame the game stank. Had a interview at Mirage Studios once.

rise of the robots? no, no they werent. not ever. they were great until things started moving. the animation was always atrocious.

Huddy, does that seriously make it the worst game youve bought? you ever dont buy games or that isnt true, come on lol

Legends of Might and Magic 4. The packaging described it as "COunter-Strike of the Fantasy World". I installed it and me and my mate broke down in tears and how appauling it was in every single way.

Kane and Lynch

Im usually very careful and do plenty of research on games but that one was a rare impulse buy and easily the worst thing ive bought in years. Just awful in every way, never has shooting people seemed so dull, how they could put out a shooter with such shoddy mechanics is beyond me.

No, that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that by today’s standards, it's pretty poor. More recent games have been rated less because of the lack of realistic AI, so why should this be any different.

No game is without its bugs but this has more than a fair few. I'm not convinced the low frame rate has anything to do with the graphics content but merely poorly designed inefficient code. I may be wrong.

I think it’s too easy to get lost it the games pure vastness and beauty than the game itself.

It not the worst game I’ve bought, that goes to Chaser but it’s certainly well below what I expected and doesn’t warrant anymore than 80%.

Hopefully, Clear Skies will put this to shame!
