Steering light would mean the front wheels have lost/loosing traction, yet you say the rear want to overtake the front?
I'm not sure what's going on there tbh.

I laugh mate, but I live vehicles, I suppose, not all of us do so.
I don't mean to take the pee, well, just a bit!
Like a Vectra, but the rears do what they were intended for, they push the car whilst the fronts steer.
A bit more tricky, but ,ultimately, much the better to enjoy as a driver.

Is this a windup? Are you sure you should be running a car like an old Omega if you dont know which end steers it or whether you need special tyres on alloys?
The front wheels will try and countersteer by themselves, depending on the caster etc - which will pull the steering in that direction a bit...could be what he's describing

Well the steering yes. And the tyres was just to make sure they dont try and fob me off with crap (like reinforced sides etc)!

Possibly, I had though about that but dismissed it. It would mean this is oversteer in a FWD, hard to come by when you're booting it.
You dont take the kids out in the car do you?... Im not sure how you couldnt know what has been happening.. You dont even have to know cars to work it out... its pretty dam obvious.. If you are getting the backend out the rears are spinning and the noise will be coming from behind you.

Edit: When going sideways it does become alittle easier to steer. Its more likely hes turning into it booting it understeering then getting the oversteer when the fronts finally find some traction.

He has an Omega, which is rwd :S
I do take them out but I didnt go booting it around roundabouts with them in it (or others around at the time)
From the back there was a slight noise but was wondering if that was crap tyres?
Also I havent done a burn out etc so never had it (tyres) spinning before and in the rain/wet roads i guess it wasnt as obvious to me

But you will be on a open diff so will never b-able mantain a good drift (unless really really slippy)
Im not after anything like that. Just need to work out how to control it incase it somehow happens when theres traffic around etc and not just let the car do what it wants and panic/freeze
To be fair fox your car is designed a lot better than the old omega. It dont take much for the back end to step out if you have cheap tyres that have seen better days. I could get the 318i to step out with very little throttle if i wanted to. Not knowing how to control it or understand it probs dont help either. Go into the roundabout too hot and hit the gas at the wrong time and your looking through the side window lol
To OP.. if you find yourself in the possition.. give it alittle oppisite lock and go gentely on the gas.. (dont just come of the gas sharp) back end should come back into line. Smooth is the name of the game here

Most probabilly yes!
Fox's car has DSC & Traction control, old Omegas do not.
Also, while Fox may not have such issues on roundabouts iirc, he's had a few back end problems on the back roads with DSC turned on.

IIRC it was one big problem
. But yeah thats what i ment lol his car is designed to keep to the straight and narrow unless pushed. Which you can tell when its activated.
