Could anyone please tell me what this is called? Its some kind of chalkboard desk but can't find the proper name for it:

No, its a Victorian chalk desk thingy majingy. Just need the proper name for it.

Tried all sorts of names on google but failing.
 
Looks like a kludge to me. The top doesn't match the base.

Could have been used as a lectern I suppose.

I think its all ment to be there. Not a lectern i dont think, certainly resembles one but its a blackboard with a chalk holder on some string.

Im guessing its some kind Victorian school desk. Has a iron base with FISHERS, WEST BROMWICH written in gold on it

Thought i would try make a few quid off of it instead of letting go in skip.
 
Judging by my extensive knowledge of wood ageing, antique furniture, and historical advances in technology, I can estimate it is from the last millennium.
 
I don't see the point in it opening like that. I had something like that that opened out fully and was covered in green baise. It was used as a gaming table/jigsaw table.

That looks more like a flower press.
