What's this in my res & is it going to be a problem?

Put my soundcard back in yesterday after fixing it (managed to snap the end part of one of the cables off inside the port. Clever, I know) & noticed this funky looking stuff at te top of my res.

After the pc had been off for 20 minutes it seemed to have cleared up a bit making me hopeful that it was just some form of foamy bubbles but it also looked like the level of fluid had gone down slightly. This is my first watercoooled build so I'm not really sure what's going on here...

Here's a pic:

It looks to me as if it could be where condensation inside the res has dried - resulting in whatever is the dye in your mix crystalising against the side of the reservoir.

Is that top tube a return line or a fillport line? And is that a solid inner tube beneath the top port, or just a column of water?

It's normally that colour so that's no issue. It looks clear usually but any kind of light on it ie the camera flash makes it look like blood. It's one of the Mayhems pre mixed fluids.

The top tube is a return line & it is a clear acrylic tube inside it rather than a column of water.

Do you think it's something I should just keep an eye on or is it likely to be something I should deal with now because it could cause problems down the line?

Thanks.

Would only cause a problem if the tide mark lumps fall into the water at some stage and manage to get lodged in a block. Other than that no problem other than looking rank. How did you fill this loop btw?

Filled it through the top of the res before I did it up. Was a bit of a fiddle but I wanted to keep it looking neat.

I'll just keep an eye on it then & see what happens. TBH I was unhappy with the colour of the fluid & am considering changing it out to a pastel so (if I get round to it) I'll check it all out then.

Thanks.
