I made a silly mistake of buying a part ex at work for peanuts.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the car, but why I bought it I don't know!

Its a Peugoet 106 XND N reg with 127,750 miles on with FSH

Mot till March 2007 and Tax till August 2006.

Its metallic blue and in decent nick for it age, has a cd player and spare keys

What would you say is the best avenue for selling this and how much do you think I should sell it for?

I bought it because I'm an idiot.

I did intend for my little brother to use it for his part time job, works at one of my Dads businesses delivering hot food.

Just looked very cheap so I bought it, I took it in part exchange against another car.

I paid £150 for it.

Is it the phase 1 or phase 2?

The 106 was released in 1993, facelifed in 1996 and discontinued in 2004

The price above was for the facelifted version - the pre-facelift wouldn't be worth as much

I know what Glasses Guide book price is, obviously this is what I used when I valued it as a part ex.

I'm just wondering how much I can sell it to a private buyer for.

Even if you sell it for a min of £500, it's not bad for a few hours work. Pop it in AutoTrader, someone will buy it for their kid.

Well atleast you bought it cheap, I feared you might have payed a little more for it.

Thats ok though, you should be able to shift it for a decent profit if you do a little bit of work

Should easily for for £500 I would think. Not much more tho. Not really a bad profit really.

Advertise it at 550 accept 500 job done GUV'NOOOOOR. :D
Don't accept any less than 500 and if offered less attack them with your keyboard the cheeky ****.
It's got a lot of miles up it for a little car but if its clean with a long MOT it's worth 500 pound of anyones money. (Except mine ;) )
By the by if they gasp at the mileage stress that Diesels are good for many more miles than that and not to think of it as a petrol car.
Important selling points are the miles to gallon and not many owners if that's the case. Also get the service history out and see when it's stamped till. Hopefully it will have service history up to 100k.
Then you can market it as well looked after. ;)

Where to sell.
Well that car at that money if a good'en will sell real quick from anywhere so even a cheap ad in your local paper will get it sold first time round.
Auto trader is good but you do get people from all over ringing you up and for that car it will drive you Nuts.
I would just chuck it in your local and somebody will ripp your hand off for 500 quid.
If you would prefer to sell it out the manor to avoid comebacks then use the auto trader.
Either way it will fly away as they say in the trade.

So why do you need to ask ocuk for valuation advice then?

I work for a Fiat main dealer

We know, you tell us whenever you get the opportunity :)

That guy spent a few minutes typing out a load of useful advice, and you offered him nothing but rude comments, hope thats made you feel all warm inside..

Because I've never sold a car privately.

I know what the trade price of the car is, I know what it would sell for on a used car forecourt - but no idea what the private buyer would pay.

I missed out a thanks for the advice guys.

woah cool it dude, its only trying to help you out there.

You say the issue is not the selling cars, but who to sell them to.........well you dont need out advice with that.......you work for a fiat main dealer. :D

No offence but if you go arround snapping at people when they try to help you....then dont expect to get replies in future.

Autotrader would be the best way to reach your target buyer, but someone made a valid point before you will get annoying phonecalls for weeks after you have sold the car, its probably still yourbest bet though.

Good luck selling it, you should make a nice profit.

I don't often share the same opinion as you but I couldn't agree more here.
