What's up with BFG?

The 9600GT is an upgrade so what was your problem? Bet it was brand new aswell

I personnally hold BFG in such very high regards as they have never failed me with customer service, and quality products

I have 4 bfg cards and a bfg motherboard thats how much i rate BFG

9600 GT is a downgrade, so they shouldn't have sent one as a replacement, as they have to replace with either the same, or better performance. :)

I don't overclock. I keep my case clean, cool, and as dust free as possible.

Just out of interest how do you clean your case? As I read using a vacuum cleaner can cause static discharge from the the quick moving air, let alone the nozzle. Never had a problem myself, but have decided to cease this method as it's not worth the risk.

9600GT is a downgrade... in a lot of games it will only be slightly slower or even same speed as an 8800GT but the more demanding the game the bigger the gap will be, with future games or anything that uses the SP intensively you will see a huge performance gap.

Nope, I use air duster or similar product. When Im feeling incredibly industrious I take it to work and blow it out with a compressor.

Sounds like you've been extremely unlucky mate. I'd demand a refund and buy from another company.

And just to add, no the 9600GT isn't any better than an 8800GT, if anything, it'll be slower!

Just an update. I got in contact with "the dude" and I now have my replacement card. I'm going to pick up a new PSU tomorrow just so I can take that out of the equation. I'd like to get a new MB mainly because of the chipset location on my Gigabyte M57SLI-S4 but its not in the budget atm. I've also readjusted the cooling in my case to make sure I'm hitting the card and chipset with everything I got. Thanks for all the opinions guys.

Out of interest, how long after you've bought a product can you ask BFG for a refund? It's a BFG mobo and still under warranty, just has been nothing but grief for all the time I've had it (killed a 1.5TB RAID array, killed a SCSI card, lost data, poor overlocking after BIOS updates, now Double Dash Of Death so looking at my fourth RMA, and probably more I've blotted from my mind).
