Whats worked for you this winter in staying warm + keeping the bills down?

Big fluffy dressing gown, long John's, el3ctric blanket on the sofa and a cat blanket on top of that makes it too hot sometimes. I don't have central heating and it's a drafty Victorian house so it gets cold af at night. With the electric blanket being so cheap to run 25w.50w or 100w setting, I leave it on med settings all night to keep the cats warm when im in bed. They've stopped sleeping on my bed with me at night and stay on the sofa now instead. Cats just use us for heat.

CBA with trying to save money. Heating is as it was last year. I have just cancelled all streaming, sky sports etc and resorted to other free ways to watch what I want. The money saved has wiped out the increase in energy. We have also decreased what we spend on hospitality. Spent more time together cooking instead which has been a good thing really.

Jeez, sounds like something from Great Expectations :)

Energy use unchanged, lived in a place a few years back which was damp because I was too scared to heat due to debt.

Vowed to never return to those dark days (where I can) and take the financial hit so to speak. Heating bills are up so no surprise. Bought a Dehumidifier, not something I'd really considered in the past, only window condensation was creeping in. As many say, shocking the amount of water it sucks up! Ambient temperatures have shot up; and it genuinely feels warmer now.

So far clothes drying much better as I was never a fan of tumble driers, exception being towels, as bed linen, clothes when I dry them come out a crinkled mess. Still figuring out the sweet spot for the Dehumidifier. No doubt it wont be cheap to run, hopefully offset with lower heating bills.

Throws on settee, Woodburner ticking over and try and stop as many draughts as we can

Solar panels installed end of last year starting to make a difference

Got lucky.
Fixed my energy back in August 2021 for 2 years, rather than the usual 1 year. With the £66 we've been getting given back, energy in our 3 bed end terrace has cost a grand total of £34pm this winter.

Heating on when we need it. Thermals, dressing gown and the wood burner (it's not a fad it warms us).

Dehumidifier in the loft room was bought to deal with winter condensation but a side benefit is it warms the room and less humid air makes it feel warmer than it otherwise would.

We tried the whole blocking everything up and it just made the house damp.
Now have a few of the windows on the catch all the time. Not needed the dehumidifier on since at all.

All my life I've been a shorts & t-shirt guy even through winter, this year I've put joggers & a zip-up on while in the house and we've been able to turn the heating down.
