Whats wrong with my 5770?

unless your using that secret U.S government stuff that has been created from the technology recovered from Roswell.

Its not 1000fps, or even 250fps.

Ok then, so the screenshot lies does it? Grow up. Stop trying to put me down because i have proved to you exactly what i said a few posts ago.

I used /cg_drawfps 1 + /com_maxfps 0 and 250 and thats what i got.

you should grow up, and stop posting either fake numbers, that go against every review of the graphics card ever posted on the internet.

or stop using terrible, lowest settings, custom configs to get those seriously dodgy numbers.

use fraps next time fool.

and why the Edit? something to hide, or realised you have made a huge error and are now trying to cover it up.

Sorry MiNxYyY most of those shot's was'nt even in game , most card's will show high fps after the game has finished.

My old 8800gt done the same in ut2004 ie it showed 250fps after the game had finnished , in game was a different story.

And tbh the other in game shot's did look like everything on low and 1920 x 1200 ?

Absolute rubbish.

I can't hit anywhere near that with 5850s' in xfire.

What are you calling max settings ?

everything is as high as it can go

COD4 only allows 4 x AA which i used, texture settings on maximum, shadow, glow water etc all on their highest setting

This.

Posting irrelevent stuff like "I get 250fps with a low end card" is useless to the OP's problem, if I manage 2000fps on cs looking at the sky, nobody would really care lol, especially if they asked me why there's was only getting 10.

On topic, your kombuster screenie looks fine, like raven said try uninstalling your drivers and installing the 10.5 or 10.6 drivers, failing that Not working, are you running a lot of antialiasing in the game? From recollection it should only allow you to run x4 anyway.

It does sound like a driver issue maybe, was it a clean install of windows and if not what card/onboard graphics was in it previously

Look, i dont have anything to hide, i posted genuine screenshots which i have taken ingame using xfire.

Yes, Fraps might post a different result, but i have always gone with xfire

I dont use any custom configs nor have i altered the pictures.

don't you realise something is wrong with your numbers, when everyone who has posted in this thread, or every review in the internet, calls bull****.

Sorry MiNxYyY, but those numbers are too surreal.

never mind that this has absolutely nothing to do with the thread, and this aint the place for a flame war. Im saying that to everyone, myself included.

dodgy numbers or not, lets all just shut up about it, and get down to nailing Fras's problem :)

Fras what framerate (average) are you getting in COD4? (Run fraps to check it whilst in game)

Just to give you an idea, I use the following settings and get around 70-90 fps on the HBC broadcast mp map with 50 players.

Cod 4 is locked to a certain fps until you type in the commands that MiNxYyY has stated so if no one on here has changed there cfg file or typed that line in your console you won't see your max fps so he may well be telling the truth.

Thankyou for actually being on my side, a lot of people on this forum are too up their own arse to believe something someone says that is true.

does cod4 use the quake3 engine? i seem to remember somone saying it does

no.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare runs on a proprietary engine featuring true world-dynamic lighting, HDR lighting effects, dynamic shadows and depth of field.[14] "Bullet Penetration" is calculated by the engine, taking into account factors such as surface type and entity thickness. The game runs in a native resolution of 600p on the Xbox 360 and PS3.[15]

Certain objects, such as cars and some buildings, are destructible. This makes distinguishing cover from concealment important, as the protection provided by objects such as wooden fences and thin walls do not completely protect players from harm. Bullet speed and stopping power are decreased after penetrating an object, and the decrease is dependent on the thickness and surface type of the object. The game makes use of a dynamic physics engine, not implemented in previous Call of Duty titles. Death animations are a combination of pre-set animations and ragdoll physics. Console versions of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare run at a consistent 60 frames per second (The Wii version runs at 30 frames per second).[14] Code was included to determine spawning points based on the nearby weapons and the relationship between enemy positions and line of sight to the points. The various criteria are meant to minimize players dying immediately after rejoining a match, or being "spawn-killed" due to players simply waiting for others to "respawn".[11]

The game engine has also been used for the development of two other Activision games. An enhanced version of the original engine was used in Call of Duty: World at War, the fifth installment in the Call of Duty series after Call of Duty 4,[16] while a slightly altered version has been used for the James Bond video game Quantum of Solace.
