What's wrong with my monitor?

I've just received my Dell U2713HM and there's some kind of problem with it that I lack the knowledge/terminology to describe. There's a small, slightly fuzzy bright spot in the lower left centre of the screen that almost disappears against a black background. When it's against a brightly coloured background, especially solid white, it can be very noticeable. It's kind of like a pin ***** (you make me smile Language filter) of backlight bleed. So, what is it called?

[EDIT] As I move my viewing position, the bright spot appears to move as if it's behind the surface of the screen.

[NOTE] I'll try and get a picture of it when I can get my hands on a camera.

i had one on my first dell 24 ultrasharp, i couldnt bare it so i sent it back for replacement, i wouldnt put up with that on a premium monitor such as that, my advice send it back if it bothers you.

It really is off-putting. The question now though is, do I return it to OcUK under DSR or direct to Dell?

You could do either. If you go with Dell in the first month, they'll send you a replacement to your door, brand new (after that I think they do refurbs).

I've decided to cut my losses and DSR to OcUK for a refund (and order at a later date... way too much going on to have time to worry about computer problems), the only problem is I don't know how to do it. Do I just use an RMA webnote?

[UPDATE] I thought I'd update this just in case anyone was in a similar situation to me and searched the forums.

I ended up sending the monitor back via DHL. I was paranoid that the monitor would be damaged in transit, which most couriers don't cover even when the monitor is insured. DHL will insure monitors against transit damage. To give you a rough idea, the monitors outer box was 75x25x47cm (from memory) and weighed 10Kg (give or take a a hundred grams or so). It would have cost about £22 to ship uninsured (against transit damage not loss. Loss is covered by default) and it would have cost about an extra £12 to insure the monitor for it's full £440 value. I ended up sending it uninsured and I also used a quidco code for 10% off + £4 cashback so it came out to £16's and something. Which reminds me... DHL need to rewrite their labelling instructions they're not as clear as they should be.

It arrived at OcUK within the estimated two business day time frame, OcUK processed my refund very quickly and that's about it. Simple, efficient and not as expensive as I had feared. So it's a thumbs up for my first experience using DHL and another thumbs up for OcUK... to think I was hesitant to do business with them for the first time a few years ago. The only time I've ever had a problem with OcUK, it was an honest mistake at a busy time of the year and it was quickly rectified by customer support.
